Bee Ridge Road and McIntosh Road - August 24, 2026

Incident Details

• A vehicle crashed into the Batteries Plus storefront at Bee Ridge Road and McIntosh Road in Sarasota at approximately 2:20 p.m.
• The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said an elderly driver was traveling east on Bee Ridge Road and lost control while attempting to turn right onto McIntosh Road.
• The vehicle struck the building and created a large opening in the storefront.
• The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
• Employees reported that no one inside the business was injured.
• The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene while crews covered the damaged portion of the building.
